Sarcasm Identification of Batak Toba Culture in the Mandok Hata New Year Celebration

This research investigated the variety of language styles sarcasm in Mandok Hata New Year celebration. By analyzing style language, researcher found true meaning an utterance accordance with intention speaker. In this research, writer conducted analysis celebration by four videos. The use typically lessens and sometimes enhances negativity inherent a sarcastic statement. Using realistic informal format, participants read either or non-sarcastic aggressive argument between same-gendered interlocutors rated pragmatic goals being expressed using range measures taken from previous studies. results study showed all five types could be videos: contrast positive sentiment negative situation (frequency 4); 13); contrasting connotations 1); verity negation temporal facts extraction 4). most dominant was situation.
